As promised before, here in this article I will go through every one of the points regarding the Shooting Stance for Air Pistol.
We must be aware that every part of the stance is equally important and we cannot disregard any part of it, otherwise we would have an imbalance in our stance and which would not be beneficial.
These are the points of the stance we need to make sure are done correctly:
-Position of Head and Neck
-Position of Shoulders
-Position of Right Arm and Right Hand
-Position of Left Arm
-Hip Position
-Position of Legs and Feet
We must be careful not to neglect any of the mentioned points as, no matter what we think, each and every point has its own importance in the whole stance and provides us with the stability we require.
What is very important to mention is that when taking a proper stance we must check our muscle tension.
Of course, muscles will be engaged to some level to maintain body posture, though we must make sure that there is no additional tension in any muscles. Unnecessary muscle tension will increase our arc of movement and have a negative effect on overall performance when shooting.
What is worth mentioning, and which will be explained later on, is the outer and inner stance. That is an advanced part of technique which we will discuss separately as it closely binds to physical fitness.
